Grandmotherhood

There are many joys in life, but few can compare to the joy of being a grandmother. Watching your grandchildren grow up is a truly magical experience. You get to see them learn and discover the world, and you get to be a part of their lives in a special way.

I know time spent with my own granddaughters is truly amazing! My oldest is 12 and she is growing up so quickly and I think she is incredible. She is mostly self taught to make her own animated videos. I am astounded every time she shares one with me. My two youngest are three and one. The three year old is a constant flow of amusement of what she says and does. She will have a great sense of humor. The one year old is more serious to a point but I can see humor and personality developing in her quite quickly.

Below are some of the rewards of being a Grandmother

  • Spending time with your grandchildren. This is the most obvious joy of being a grandmother. There is nothing quite like spending time with your grandchildren, playing games, reading stories, and just enjoying their company.

  • Teaching them new things. As a grandmother, you have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with your grandchildren. You can teach them about the world, about your own life, and about the things that are important to you.

  • Watching them grow up. There is nothing more rewarding than watching your grandchildren grow up. You get to see them change and develop into their own unique individuals. It is truly a privilege to be a part of their journey.

  • Making memories that will last a lifetime. The time you spend with your grandchildren will create memories that will last a lifetime. These are the moments that they will cherish and look back on fondly when they are older.

  • Being a role model. As a grandmother, you have the opportunity to be a role model for your grandchildren. You can teach them about kindness, compassion, and respect. You can also show them how to live a happy and fulfilling life.

  • Receiving unconditional love. Grandchildren have a way of giving unconditional love. They don't care about your age, your wrinkles, or your mistakes. They love you for who you are.

Of course, being a grandmother is not all sunshine and rainbows. There are also challenges, such as dealing with teenagers, helping with homework, and dealing with the loss of a loved one. But even the challenges can be rewarding, as they give you the opportunity to grow and learn.

Grandmotherhood is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. It's an honor to be able to share in your grandchildren's lives and witness their growth. If you're fortunate enough to have grandkids, savor all the moments with them.

So remember those that are Grandmas the following...

  • Be present. When you are spending time with your grandchildren, be fully present. Put away your phone and other distractions, and focus on them.

  • Be patient. Children learn at their own pace, so be patient with them. Don't get frustrated if they don't understand something right away.

  • Be positive. Children are like sponges, and they absorb the energy around them. So be positive and upbeat when you are around them.

  • Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan when you are with children. So be flexible and go with the flow.

  • Have fun! Being a grandmother should be fun. So relax, enjoy the moment, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

There is a saying in our family. Grandma can break the rules of the house. If Grandma is babysitting, what Grandma says goes. My sons know that this Grandma will spoil, give treats and give prezzies at any given time.

Enjoy your Grandmotherhood!
