Mount Dora is a charming town in Central Florida that is known for its historic downtown, art galleries, and wineries. It's a great place to visit any time of year, but autumn is a particularly special time. The weather is still warm and sunny, but the crowds have thinned out. This makes it a perfect time to plan a ladies' getaway weekend.

So let's form a plan

The Estate in Mount Dora - They boast 5-star. comfort and historic charm.

Either one of those two will surely give you comfort and you will feel the real charm of the historic Mt Dora.

Okay so we know where we want to stay, let's find some things to do!

We may want to visit Renningers Antique and Flea Market .

and then go to The Dora Canal for a 2-hour boat tour.

Don't forget the shopping! Downtown Mt Dora has many places to shop and you won't be disappointed.

Later in the evening, we won't want to miss the sunset from Grantham Point Park where a lighthouse is situated along Lake Dora.

We need to eat, so here is a list of fine dining places to choose from:

For lunch, we must go to the Frog & Monkey Restaurant and Pub - a burger and maybe a cocktail?

For dinner, we have to go to Pisces Rising Restaurant. It is located on the lake for a beautiful view and tasty food.

Please note, I encourage you to click on the above places as I could not begin to describe how incredible Mt Dora is as you must see for yourself. This would be the perfect place to have a girl's getaway weekend. Fly into Orlando Airport and drive about 45-50 minutes and you are there!

Florida is not all Mickey Mouse and Oceanside/Bayside beaches.

I feel fortunate enough that I am only 30 minutes from Mt Dora and can go at any time. I have friends that live there and love it!
